The Three Stooges assure you that you must be afraid

They call them experts but they are much closer to clowns.

In the failing media’s latest hit-piece, aimed at David Seymour, three state-owned pants-wetters — who have been reliably wrong about everything since 2020 — remind us that, actually, we have a moral obligation to do what we’re told.

Says Larry:

Covid-19 modeller Dr Dion O'Neale said one was that his numbers didn't take into account boosters or time since vaccination. 

"Two doses of vaccine more than three months ago is indeed poor at blocking infections - hence in people with two doses given four or so months ago, we would expect similar infection rates to the unvaccinated - but much lower hospitalisation." 

For people recently boosted, however, infection blocking was 60 to 70 per cent. 

This protection rate lasts for weeks, in the absolute best case. The diminishing returns against Omicron are not only observed in the lab, they also explain why cases and hospitalizations are through the roof in the most jabbed, most boosted areas.

And even ignoring that, he said protection against hospitalisation from vaccination was still well worth pursuing. 

"This is not simply an individual benefit. Keeping yourself out of hospital is to the benefit of others in the community who might need that bed - car crashes and heart attacks don't stop in a pandemic," he said. 

"Asking people with high exposure risk due to their work to be vaccinated still benefits the community." 

The science-mans lectures us on our moral duties as he dutifully lies about the virus and the “vaccines”.

This very morning yours truly wrote of the dangers of letting the science-men pretend that their facts translate into moral judgments. Here we find a case of it in the wild.

Never mind the well known demographic skew of those most likely to be hospitalized.

Obesity, diabetes, heart disease, being male and over the age of 60 are all high risk factors and, surprise, they are a disproportionate number of the hospitalizations.

We can’t mention that part (it commits several “isms” against the Woke Religion), so everyone must be punished and further traumatized by a state-sponsored campaign of fear.

This is what passes for morality today. Lie to your face to guilt-trip you.

Curly doubles down:

University of Auckland vaccinologist Associate Professor Helen Petousis-Harris also criticised Seymour's workings. 

"Keeping people out of hospital is not just in the interests of the individual, it is in the whole communities interests – and keeping people working is also in all our interests, so there is a lot more to consider here other than infections, which I may add, will give us all a boost before the next variant appears." 

Pay careful attention to the bait and switch move.

Nobody, not even this curmudgeonly author, wants the hospital overflowing with avoidable illnesses.

Yet I also know that a 60 year old overweight diabetic smoker has exponentially higher odds of that than a 20 year old athlete.

A doctor or scientist with integrity would admit this.

Strange that none of our experts in the news will.

They find the moral shame of a guilt trip to be the “greater good”.

Such ethical people we have guiding us.

Not to be outdone, Moe, aka the Grandmaster Bed Wetter Michael Baker, chimes in with another helping of irrational paranoia pretending to be science:

Otago University epidemiologist Professor Michael Baker said it was irresponsible for Seymour to use what he called a "a very crude, back-of-the-envelope calculation" to question the current need for mandates. 

Baker said Seymour's argument was "completely at odds" with high-quality, published overseas evidence about the vaccine's effectiveness against Omicron.  

"And these show that boosted people are certainly at markedly lower risk of being identified as a case – and at vastly lower risk of dying from Covid-19." 

Is that right?

Well, that’s no help.

Israel, France, the US, all boosting…

All seeing spikes in deaths.

You’ll see the same for hospitalizations.

That’s one heck of a thing to blame on the pure-bloods.

Reality’s always getting in the way of The Science™.

New Zealand is the only country on Earth still pursuing the elimination strategy — by whatever name you want to call it — even knowing that it is pointless.

These same people have the gall, the absolute chutzpah, to wonder why the public mistrusts science, expertise, and the media.
