When the police threaten you for doing the job they won't do
The term for this is anarcho-tyranny
“Accept rampant out-of-control crime or else,” say New Zealand police:
The po-leese says:
A Police spokesperson said while they appreciated that members of the public want to prevent harm, their advice "is always to call 111 in an emergency".
"The people who attempted to stop this group put themselves at significant risk of injury, or worse."
The non-NZ reader may not get the joke.
The understanding is that if you call the cops during a crime, they’ll come by and collect your corpse sometime in the next 2-3 days.
The idea that you should stand by and watch as your property is burgled or destroyed by armies of future engineers and artists is laughable.
That is the stage of Clown World here in paradise New Zealand. Honk honk. 🤡
But it’s worse than lack of enforcement.
The laws here so favor of the beautiful souls that break into cars, homes, and businesses, maybe fire off a few rounds of .223 into residential neighborhoods, that you can’t even defend yourself without state prosecution.
The State will treat you as a worse threat than the law-breaking criminal (who is a victim of mental illness, didn’t you know?) who caused the violent disorder to begin with.
I admit to a cold streak when it comes to criminals and violent criminals in particular. I don’t care what happens to them in the course of a crime. The way I figure, if you’re willing to take what isn’t yours, use force to do it, and put others at risk in the act, you get whatever comes your way.
If you get smoked by a home-owner or business owner or anyone else you’re trying to screw around with, oh well.
Your actions have consequences, in the same way that stepping off a high cliff has the consequence of falling.
Entirely foreseeable. Easily avoided.
Edmund Burke once wrote:
Society cannot exist unless a controlling power upon will and appetite be placed somewhere, and the less of it there is within, the more of it there must be without.
Oh but not in New Zealand. The only will and appetite that our justice [sic] system controls is the will to create order, beauty, and goodness.
Any other deranged appetite is open season. We’re going to protect everyone so hard that we can’t even punish criminals. Instead we’ll punish the innocents living their lives in peace.
Which has led us to this race to see who can hit bottom fastest.
We live under what’s known as anarcho-tyranny. The power of the state refuses to punish the actual criminals and instead directs its power at control over the innocent public.
No wonder anyone with brains and prospects leaves here at the first opportunity.
